What Is FAQPage Schema?

FAQPage schema is a type of structured data (JSON-LD) that tells Google your page contains a list of questions and answers. When implemented correctly, Google may display these Q&As directly in search results as an expandable rich snippet, increasing your visibility and click-through rate.

FAQ rich snippets can appear for both branded and non-branded queries. They're especially valuable for product pages, service pages, and support content. Google requires that the FAQ content is visible on the page and not hidden behind tabs or accordions.

FAQ Schema Best Practices

  • Each page should have 2-8 questions for optimal display.
  • Questions must be real questions people search for — use keyword research.
  • Answers should be concise (under 300 characters when possible).
  • Don't use FAQ schema for advertising or promotional content.
  • Validate your markup with Google's Rich Results Test before publishing.
